Hi my name is Noe Gonzales Jr. I am a third year student majoring in BioResource Agriculture Engineering with a minor in Ag Business and its’ my privilege to be president for LIA this year. I encourage everyone to stop by and check out what LIA has to offer. I was born and raised in the Salinas Valley. I love to be outdoors camping, wakeboarding, snowboarding, or just having a good time. I listen to music from all genres. Currently, my favorite English song is Good Time by Alan Jackson and in Spanish it would have to be La Cruz de Madera by Michael Salgado. I am very active in school and I have an outgoing personality. I am in multiple clubs: LIA, Tractor Pull, Quarter Scale and the Agriculture Engineering Society. I love to help others, so if you ever want to talk or just hang out and have a good time, you can send me an email, nogonzal@calpoly.edu. I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year; come join us.

Vice President
Name: Mariel Aceves
Major:
Hello everyone my name is Mariel Aceves and I am a super senior (5th year) here at Cal Poly. I am an undergraduate majoring in Agriculture Science with a concentration in Animal Science. I was born and raised in the small, but great, town of Soledad, California. I hope to become a vocational agriculture teacher for high school students in the very near future. In becoming a teacher I want to influence young adult in pursuing higher education and lead them into a brighter future. I believe education is the most important foundation in students, and it is necessary for them to receive the best education possible. I became part of Latinos In Agriculture to gain experience, self confidence, and of course to be a part of the family environment that LIA provides. |

Secretary
Name: Kristina Wolf
Major:
I drove my poor mother crazy bringing home stray pets and wild animals that caused all sorts of problems in our home. At the age of 15 I became very involved in the FFA, raising goats, lambs, veal calves, and hogs and training riders and their horses. Coming to Cal Poly was a dream for me, as I was surrounded by a beautiful city and lots of rangeland with livestock everywhere I looked. Pre-veterinary medicine was my focus for three years, but I took four years off to take care of my daughter. We are now back at Poly, and I only have a few more classes to take before I complete my Bachelors in Animal Science! I also added a minor in Rangeland Resources, and plan on continuing at Cal Poly doing a Master’s in Agriculture, focusing on sustainable rangeland management and livestock production. I absolutely love LIA members because they have become my new family in SLO, and we always have fun! |
